Fastway Couriers South Africa warned on 8 Oct 2026 about fake courier notifications targeting online shoppers with supposed failed deliveries, customs fees or delivery charges.
Scammers send convincing SMS messages or emails pretending to be a courier. The message says a parcel cannot be delivered, will be returned/destroyed, or requires a customs/delivery payment. It pressures the recipient to follow a payment link to a professional-looking fake site that steals card, banking or personal details.
Different pages, same playbook — matched by what they do, not just the brand.
Fastway warns that scammers target people selling items online: an interested buyer sends a fake delivery/payment-status process, sometimes showing that money was received, to trick the seller.
