SA Government News Agency reported on 11 Oct 2026 that a fraudulent WhatsApp group is impersonating SARB/Governor Lesetja Kganyago and claiming to provide daily stock recommendations or investment advice.
Victims are invited to join or engage with a WhatsApp investment/stock-tip group falsely using the SARB Governor’s name. The scam solicits trust, then may push links or requests for personal/financial information. SARB says neither it nor the Governor gives investment advice via WhatsApp or any platform.
