Reaches you by phone call · Public web warning · 06 Oct
FNB’s latest-scam page, crawled on 2026-10-06, highlights remote-access fraud: callers claiming to be from FNB offer to help install software on the customer’s PC or ask them to call the bank to release a payment. FNB warns it will never ask for OTPs to reverse pending transactions or block a profile.
Vishing/remote-access scam: a caller impersonates FNB, convinces the customer to install remote-control software or reveal credentials/OTPs, then takes over online banking to move funds.
Different pages, same playbook — matched by what they do, not just the brand.
FNB’s security centre lists an online banking verification phishing scam and an FNB phishing website scam, warning customers never to disclose OTPs, usernames, passwords, card or PIN details.
